Challenge
The original search interface lacked essential brand presence and faced information hierarchy challenges that could impact user productivity. With missing visual cues for file selection states and limited file management capabilities, users experienced cognitive friction when navigating large media libraries. Industry research shows employees spend over 2 hours daily gathering information, making efficient search paramount. The interface suffered from unclear visual feedback systems, missing multi-selection functionality, and separated summary/description fields creating unnecessary complexity. These patterns violated Recognition Over Recall principles and increased mental processing load for media professionals managing extensive video archives, potentially contributing to fix confusing SaaS screen flow issues.

Our Approach
We applied evidence-based design principles to optimize SaaS dashboard UX for conversions, focusing on Visual Hierarchy enhancement and Feedback Loop optimization. We applied Signifiers principles by adding clear visual indicators for interactive elements, while leveraging the Aesthetic-Usability Effect through improved brand integration. The redesign utilized Progressive Disclosure to streamline content consumption, implementing Chunking strategies for better information organization. Our process integrated Miller's Law considerations, consolidating similar functions to reduce cognitive load. We employed the Law of Proximity to group related elements logically and applied Recognition Over Recall principles through enhanced visual feedback systems, creating micro-interactions on SaaS screen design that improve user comprehension and reduce time-to-discovery.

Outcomes
The redesigned interface delivers enhanced brand recognition through strategic logo placement and improved information architecture that reduces search friction. Users now experience clearer file selection states, streamlined multi-selection capabilities, and consolidated AI summary functionality that eliminates redundant information processing. The enhanced video preview system provides standard controls meeting user expectations, while the reorganized layout maximizes content visibility. Grid/list view toggles offer personalized viewing preferences, and improved visual feedback systems create better task completion confidence. These improvements align with best UX fixes for SaaS trial signup screen principles, reducing cognitive load while maintaining the powerful intent-based searching capabilities that define Kestroll's competitive advantage in media asset management.

BEFORE | AFTER | WHY |
---|---|---|
No visible brand identity in interface | Prominent Kestroll logo placement | Applied Visual Anchors - brand presence builds trust and creates memorable user experience |
Unclear file selection states without visual feedback | Clear selection indicators with highlighting | Leveraged Feedback Loop - users need immediate confirmation of their actions |
Limited single-file interaction capabilities | Multi-selection functionality with checkboxes | Implemented Spark Effect - reducing effort for bulk operations increases user efficiency |
Separated summary and description creating redundancy | Consolidated AI summary with unified information | Applied Tesler's Law - removing unnecessary complexity improves user comprehension |
Basic video preview without standard controls | Enhanced player with familiar playback controls | Utilized Mental Model - users expect standard video interface patterns |
Missing folder navigation and context | Direct "Go to Folder" links with breadcrumb navigation | Applied Signifiers - clear indicators communicate available actions and locations |
Fixed list view limiting content consumption preferences | Toggleable grid/list views for personalized browsing | Leveraged Familiarity Bias - users prefer customizable interfaces matching their workflow habits |
Scattered action buttons reducing task efficiency | Grouped settings and controls for streamlined workflows | Implemented Chunking - organized information reduces cognitive processing time |
